SIRV shortlisted at New Civil Engineer TechFest Awards 2017

Summary

We’re proud to share that SIRV was shortlisted at the New Civil Engineer (NCE) TechFest Awards 2017 for our work on safer, smarter risk reporting in construction and infrastructure.

Why SIRV was recognised

The problem: Construction has long struggled to capture hazards and near-misses consistently. Even when reports are submitted, the dots are rarely joined up across projects and organisations—so lessons don’t travel and risks repeat.

Our approach: SIRV makes reporting simple and fast for everyone, from cleaner to CEO, so more signals make it into the system. Operating on DLR networks, teams using SIRV typically report twice as much and take half the time to write usable reports. Data is structured for pattern detection in near real time, highlighting emerging risks before they become incidents. Insights can be shared within an organisation and, where appropriate, across the wider industry.

Why this matters: Organisations that report more, learn faster. They reduce incident rates and build a stronger defence against claims by evidencing action and learning.* SIRV turns day-to-day reporting into a practical feedback loop for safer methods of work, better planning and more resilient delivery.

As discussed by Simon Wright, Programme Director at Crossrail, “Preventing a re-occurrence – what organisations do to embed lessons,” ICE & Costain Joint Lecture, London, 26 Oct 2016.

What’s next

Our mission is unchanged: make reporting effortless, make learning unavoidable. If you’re modernising health and safety, incident reporting or lessons-learned across programmes and contractors, we’d love to talk.
